Yakakoy - Tlos
This is an area of outstanding beauty! It benefits, In the hots summer months it benefits from its 850 metre altitude and affords spectacular views over the ancient site of Tlos as well as Fethiye bay and fr reaching views over Patara. The sunsets from this part of the Akdag are simply stunning!
It is a traditional rural mountain farming community, and is surrounded by small fields growing aubergines, peppers, fieldd tomatoes as well as as various seasonal fruit. There are olive groves, orchards and a vast pine forests with wonderful walking trails.
The whole of this area is famed for its abundant flowing water and trout farms. This is due continual snow melt through the summer months which also provide beatifully fresh and ice cool drinking water. Life has not change much over the centuries and the sound of goat bells drifting through the air and the mystical sounds of the call to prayers rising from the valley below make for a truly atmoshphricexperience.
Although just a 20 minute drive from the valley below, this area is a true gem for those seeking peace and solitude in beautiful surroundings.The snow capped mountain provide the most spectacular of backdrops and the clear air and the lack of light pollution give rise to amazing start-filled skies.
